Conik ponies

Not quite the Camargue, but we were thrilled to see these wonderful little horses, a feature of Wickham Fen apparently. We were lucky to see around forty, at one point all galloping, oh it was lovely.
Wickham Fen beautiful but the wind goes through you like a knife. We saw fabulous windmill, heard all kinds of birds including Cetti’s warbler. Very few people around - understandably given wind, temperature and possibility of rain. Back to Ely for cheeky lunch & glass of wine, well-earned, we felt.
