In search of an urn…. not this one!

New information came to light yesterday which led to this morning it being decided that an urn was required for tomorrow’s internment. The same was procured by the ever efficient funeral directors and delivered to the minister so he could do the necessary for the morning.

What I thought was going to be a more relaxing day turned out to be less so.

We shall gather for the final act at 11.00am in the morning. A “Celtic Blessing” will be read alongside “The Rose Beyond the Wall”

We were bowled over once again by your kindness and compassion over the past few days. Your words have been inspirational and comforting. Thank you all again.

The flowers in the basket were from the grand children, those in the jam jars were table decorations and the whole bouquet from a family member.

Celtic Blessing

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand

The Rose Beyond the Wall

A rose once grew
where all could see,
sheltered beside
a garden wall,

And as the days
passed swiftly by,
it spread its branches
straight and tall

One day, a beam of light
shone through a crevice
that had opened wide

The rose bent gently
towards its warmth
then passed beyond
to the other side.

Now, you who deeply feel its loss,
be comforted the rose blooms there
Its beauty even greater now,
nurtured by God’s own loving care.
