Southern Pale Chanting Goshawk (Melierax canorus)

The Game drive today kept throwing up these beautiful birds, The name seems a bit of a misnomer as as far as i can see there is no Northern, Eastern or Western counterpart. Also the Chanting must have been very quiet. We have been staying at the River Bend Lodge where we have been pampered to the max. but we do seem to be eating our way through the game park. last night we had Impala steaks, tonight I had Kudo Tarter followed by Warthog (Punbar) fillet. Reminds me of the tie in the late seventies when the Film Watership Down was released a Butcher in Aberdeen had a sign alongside the Rabbits in the window that read;
"you've read the the book and seen the film now eat the cast"
