I can see clearly...

...now the rain cataracts have gone. 

Well maybe not clearly. My brain is intervening between two conflicting parties, left eye and right eye, to promote reconciliation and a compromise. 
The right eye is promoting itself as the new shiny thing, the left eye as the old reliable. Brain says they need to work as a team again.
