Anzac Day

This is the Wellington War Memorial. It's a wonderful building with a bell tower at the top but is currently closed after being found to be earthquake prone some years ago. The area is walking distance for us so we had a wander this morning as there was to have been an 11 o'clock additional service but it's not been a great day and the wind proved to be too much and the service was cancelled. 
This is a great area and years ago the main road proposed was turned into a tunnel  which runs underneath and has left the area completely untouched. There are a number of displays from other countries too.
