ANZAC day …….

……… the day each year when New Zealanders and Australians remember those who fought and died for our freedoms, first in Gallipoli and then in subsequent wars. And we remember all those who have served in a multitude of ways and their sacrifices. I woke very early and listened to the Dawn Service of remembrance in Wellington on my radio as Maisie and I walked the river tracks. One phrase was foremost in my mind. It is part of a poem “For the Fallen” by Laurence Binyon. “At the going down of the sun and in the morning we will remember them.”Arohanui.
