Beetle Maze

Out of my comfort zone for once,. I had a look around for more subjects I could use the ultra wide lens on. I found this fallen tree, which is probably an ash because these tracks in its trunk are made by the emerald ash borer beetle.

With low sun creating side light on the trunk, the tracks stood out in relief. The lens was inches away from the foreground creating the exaggerated view. Couldn't quite get my shadow out of shot!

I tried a few other subjects, but this lens is tough to work with.
