Ground Zero
This is a picture from the inside of the American Express building, which is across the street from ground zero.
Today(Saturday) we:
Went to Ground Zero
Tried to take a water taxi, but failed since their website gave us the wrong times. I was sad that Chiara didn't get to do it because I know she would have loved it, but relieved at the same time since I know I would have gotten sea sick.
Went to this thrift store called oh what was it called, Home Works I think, anyways really good. We went to the one in Chelsea I believe and then went to a farmers market at Union Square - really cool. Ate at the Grey Dog Cafe (delicious and definitely a true neighborhood place). Later when we were back at the hotel we decided to venture to the pool deck on the roof, which actually was pretty cool. We stayed at the Empire Hotel @ 63rd & Broadway. Very modern, very tiny rooms, very cool place, liked it a lot.
I also walked around central park a little and ate a mister softee ice cream cone - yummmmmmmm!
For dinner we ate at Daniel, which is a fine dining place on the Lower East Side (or is it upper? wherever the money is). The dining experience was perfect to say it lightly. Simply amazing, the service, the food, the ambiance, everything was perfect and I will absolutely be coming here again on my next trip to Manhattan.
