Basilica, El Escorial

I had a relaxed start to the day, enjoying a bread roll with jamon iberico, sitting in the square, then a coffee with a sweet roll. I bought a couple of tops for much less than you’d find in London then headed off to explore the royal palace and gardens. I spent a few hours wandering around, enjoying the history, paintings, architecture and furnishings. The gardens were pretty, but between seasons.
Then a bus to Madrid, checked into my Airbnb, went for a walk, checked out of my Airbnb, into a hostal, had a late snack, glass of wine and went to bed.
