There was heavy rain overnight and first thing this morning, but it cleared and we were able to walk down to coffee at the Opera House.  After coffee we went and helped sort books for a couple of hours.  Just as we were about to walk home the rain started again accompanied by hail, so another couple dropped us home, which was very kind of them.

We had soup for lunch then pottered for an hour until it was time to walk down to the Victoria Lounge Bar for last Friday of the month drinks.  There was quite a large group of us so it was a very convivial evening.  Friends who were driving in our general direction dropped us off at the top of the main hill, which left a short flat walk and a small uphill to home. We had a light supper of crispy hash and eggs then relaxed for a while before bedtime.

The clouds were looking lovely over Oamaru as we walked down to town this evening.
