to sit up here without getting sand in my eyes, as there was no wind and lots of sun! Even better was watching the Wheatears feeding, chasing and prospecting rabbit holes for nest sites and Sand Martins investigating their holes in the banks. Curlews were calling all round. The first Cuckoo was collecting huge worms from under the heather and gobbling them down. Two Pipits were his constant companions, worried for their nests! It ate for at least two hours and then gave one cuckoo call! Really Spring now!
