Silly letterbox

A few weeks back I blipped about having to put up a Biskit proof letterbox.
 
Well the one that I chose turns out to be a very silly design.  If the box is opened fully then the internal anti-theft flap stops mail being put in.  Even at 45 deg the mail is not easy to put in until the lid is mostly shut – if only I had known before buying, or even realised before erecting!?
 
So to reduce the amount of screwed up mail we are now receiving I have come up with the ingenious plan of fitting a stop with the lid just open at the optimum angel – not very wide is it?  So let’s hope this solves the problem.
 
The only other silly thing I did was doing a supermarket shop – will I ever learn???
