Eye spy.
Can you spot the wood pigeon?
This is the holly bush which at Christmas is covered in fairy lights.
In spring it is the favourite place for two wood pigeons to build a nest, lay their eggs and bring up their young.
Today, looking through binoculars from our small bedroom/ office window I spotted one of the parents feeding two youngsters. The youngsters are almost fully fledged and huge.
Difficult to photograph but you can possibly just see the eye. I’m sure it was looking at me.
Will keep a lookout now and hopefully see the youngsters when they leave the nest.
We still have that cold breeze, but it stayed dry and I spent the afternoon in the garden.
( Well wrapped up)
Planted some broad beans in a pot. A first. Hope they germinate. Also planted another potato in a smaller pot.
Earthed up the potatoes I planted a few weeks ago as they were growing through the soil.
They obviously don’t mind it being cold.
