Pink Balloons

Honk, if you've lost someone to breast cancer.
A line forms on the bridge walkway.
Ladies wave, cars honk.
A run is planned for fundraising
and public support is requested.
We all know someone who didn't make it
much past the last treatment, who didn't live to see
their grandchildren.
Many pink balloons bob in the air
calling attention to a cause we all understand.
