daintily does it
I missed my lunchwalk today as is usual when we actually had a rare team meeting (which are always pencilled-in over the last half-hour of lunchtime whether they happen or not) so detoured slightly on the way home after popping to some shops and was ensnared by the top of the hill peeking through the haar; it looked like it would have been both nice and cool and pleasant of view so I headed over, though hadn't anticipated the slowing effect of huge crowds of dolled-and ponced-up poshoes guffawing their very slow way away from the palace. The amount of people on the street looked sufficient to have filled the grounds but every road away from the park round the back was also filled with cars, mostly taking up both lanes and going the wrong way round roundabouts by order of the polices directing traffic, probably just to get all the cars out of their immediate way as soon as possible. Although I wouldn't have been allowed to go right to the summit (having approached from the north, just to hold to my principle of never taking any route to the summit except the interesting steep one from the west) the soothing vapours had disappeared by the time I'd reached the park but any walk up the hill is pleasant, even when it's extremely hot. It wasn't as horribly busy as it could have been with enough people to shoot at without there being so many people that it got too noisy, though the ned pointing out to his nedwife that "fuckin aye, that's fuckin Hillend ower there" should perhaps consider fucking shutting the fuck up as he could probably have been heard from Gilmerton.
Spicy omelette wraps for tea, this time with added turmeric, cumin and normal black pepper as I didn't have any chilis to chop up. Combined with the yolk-heavy eggs it resulted in a mildly greenish result which went quite well with the orangey-coloured tortillas.
