Life in a Northern Town

London Calling

Open Day at the London School of Economics.

David has long said that it is where he wants to study. I was on board, I think it would be an incredible opportunity to live in London, and study in one of the top institutions in the world for his subject.

Safe to say he didn't LOVE it. We both got a slight impression that the School does not prioritise undergraduates. Talk of pastoral care was a little noticeable by its absence. It was all incredibly serious. Mr kagsy went there in the 80s and says it was just like that then too.

The campus is smack in the middle of London. The Halls were pokey but next to Covent Garden (and unimaginably expensive) - it's a trade off.

I think it might be back to the drawing board. Standard offer is A*AA (A* has to be in maths) plus A in further maths AS. If he doesn't get an A* in his AS Level maths when the results are out next month, that's decision made anyway.

Great day in London anyway, we got back at 10pm, knackered and grimy.

London Calling? Who knows.
