Venus of the Rags
This sculpture by contemporary Italian artist Michelangelo Pistoletto has been recently reinstated in Piazza Municipio after being destroyed in an arson attack last year.
The classical sculpture of Venus, the Roman goddess of love, beauty and fertility, is shown embracing a huge pile of rags.
The installation is meant to convey the juxtaposition between eternal beauty, represented by Venus, and modern society's social degradation and consumerism.
This time it's been made of fire-proof material.
