Nelson Staircase
It is not the first time I have blipped this wonderful staircase in Somerset House, London.
We were there to visit the Sony World Photography Awards exhibition. As always, a large exhibition spread over two wings of this glorious building. A lot of the photography was very topical and covered areas such as Gay Rights and Climate Change. In general, these weren't the sort of images which you see in camera clubs, but they were mostly good. We felt that the overall interest was higher than in previous years.
The highlight of the exhibition, though, was a display of large scale black and white documentary photographs by the great Sebastião Salgado. I have seen many of his images before, but many of those on display here were new to me. It was worth visiting the exhibition for these alone.
