Holey hedge

I have a hedge by the side of my house that I hate and which has been growing further and further out to the point that I’ve felt it’s a security risk as my front door is not fully visible from the street. So - my neighbour’s son who trims annually was enlisted to attack it a bit more. It looks pretty awful now, but also much better. He recommended a cherry laurel replacement, so ordered and planted. It’s small but grows quickly I’m told. Neighbours not desperately happy about the hole in the hedge - mainly because they can now see more of my other neighbours front garden which is a complete eyesore. Thankfully, they are not too upset that it’s causing a problem! This is the hole - their garden is lovely and tidy.
