This guy in the MBG GT was getting petrol at the same time as us.

This is a pretty immaculate 1977 model. I told him that I owned a 1969 model some 50 years ago

He had the grace not to say that he hadn't been born then

I stayed for his departure so that I could hear the distinctive burble of the MGB exhaust

Our car is the Toyota hybrid next to it. Something more fitting my age. In fact I wouldn't like to be defined by either car. 

My first car was my ideal. An A35 van. The same model and colour that Wallace and Grommit drive.

Both the A35 and the MGB succumbed to the ravages of time and body rot.

But then don't we all?
