Western General Hospital ceiling
This is the view from a bed in the Western General Hospital. I lay here this evening while waiting for a consultation with an out-of-hours GP - and strong painkillers. Normally I would have sat in the waiting room with everyone else, but the kind receptionist instantly recognised that I would be better off horizontal. I made it home just before midnight with a precious pack of co-codamol.
Earlier in the day I prepared for the arrival of this evening’s guest, and for tomorrow’s book group dinner.
Mid-afternoon I rang 111 about my neck pain. It has been terrible today. This set in motion the process that led to my late evening appointment at the WGH.
Atlanta came round at 6:30pm for supper and a game of Catan. I won the game - a small triumph on a difficult day.
Exercise today: none (injured with neck pain).
