Well, my six months off started well when I realised the sore throat and headache I'd had all weekend was, as suspected, an annoy(ingly snotty) cold. Hopefully it'll be gone by next week as we're off to Lisbon for a few days 

Anyway, not to waste the first sunny day for MONTHS I started tackling the garden. Two wheelbarrows later I've done about half of it and cleared out the blue alkanet, most of the rampant forget-me-nots and the Spanish bluebell infestation. It looks a lot better already..

I've had two shadows with me all day, everywhere I was there was a cat not far away, including above me. Theres a bluetit nest in a hole in this tree every year.... and every year one of the cats gets the chicks.
