Victoria Square, St Helens
Walked to town and got the bus home. I had no need to go into Victoria Square but it passed the time till the bus was due.
Town was quiet - not surprising as there is very little left in town now. I had a walk through the Hardshaw Centre and it's almost empty (ready for the town makeover we are to have). I hope the makeover is going to be worth it but I can't see footfall increasing to decent levels unless they get rid of the parking charges or at least make them more friendly. I only went into town to post a card at the sorting office (so it will reach its destination in the Midlands in less than a week and a half). I also took the opportunity to get a bit of exercise by walking there from home. It's a little under 2 miles from home to the sorting office and a bit more than 2 miles if I then walk the extra to the bus station in town.
Was looking how to do the 100 miles in May fundraiser but so many people I know have signed up for it already that I think I should defer the fundraiser to a quieter month.
Perhaps not as many people will be so keen to trot 100 miles in November, so it might be a better month to get people to donate.
