Sitka Spruce
One of the things I enjoy at this time of year is watching the emerging new growth on many of our conifers. Once the buds on this Sitka Spruce open the emerging greenery looks a bit like a pastry brush.
The Sitka Spruce is one of the tallest conifers in the world and can reach a height of 70m. The tree's wood is commercially used to make musical instruments.
A load of washing, shopping and a visit to the Heritage Park ...... the morning was the best time to be out and about today.
