Memento Mori

This 18th century stone grave slab lies in the graveyard of Ellon parish church. The slab is carved with traditional symbols of our certain mortality (skull, hourglass, mort bell, crossed leg-bones and coffin) and of our possible Christian immortality (bible, angels with trumpets announcing the resurrection).
