Just hanging around
We were up early and off into town for our electric scooter tour of the old town. We’ve never been on one before so it was a quick try up the road and then we were off. There were only four in our group which was great as we all scooted together along the paths with bikes, walkers and segwayers. We loved the scooters and Arthur, our guide, was really informative. We rode round, the castle, the park, the square, churches and the basilica and along the river. There is so much history and he also told us unusual little facts. It shakes your brain when you scoot over cobbles but I surprisingly didn’t fall off.
We wanted to try some Polish food so we went for traditional dumplings which were delicious. Then we went for a walk around the square….the largest market square in Europe….and headed back down to the river. Sue spotted a roof top bar, the Sky Bar so we went up there for a beer in the sunshine and enjoyed the view across the river and the castle.
Next stop was the Museum of Illusions. It is only small but it was fun. After hanging upside down from the ceiling we were in need of another beer so we sat in the square and watched the horse and carriages trot by.
We had a lovely meal in a little Polish restaurant just off the main square….the prices half as you leave the tourist spots. The food was lovely.
We have done so many steps and packed a lot into the day. It was great fun.
