Larissa Station / Athens Central Station
Weirdly, I suppose, but Athens is not a big train hub, considering it is a major city in the Balkans.
They have a great metro, but the intercity network is sparse and there have been no international train services to neighbouring countries since 2011 because the government still can't afford it.
I've never visited a central city train station that had no shops or cafés in it before! There is a vending machine and a supermarket up the street though.
Anyway, we're staying near Larissa station (aka Athens Central) as it has a metro. Aren't the seats cute?
