Rhododendron

A shot of a pretty rhododendron that we passed on one of today’s walks, to brighten up what has otherwise been a sombre day. 

The horrific stabbing incident in Hainault early this morning, not far from where we live, in which a boy of 14 was sadly killed and four other people (two of them police officers) were injured, has naturally dominated our thoughts and prayers. 

The vicar of the local church has been available in the nearby streets today to talk with people and listen to their concerns, and she is opening her church for prayer this evening. Her church is part of our church’s minster, which is a group of churches in the area around ours, of which our vicar has oversight. She was trained by our vicar, and he will be there at her church to support her tonight as she ministers to the people of the locality who want to come together in prayer at this sad time.
