Finally ...

... I found a bumblebee that stayed still long enough to be photographed. I reckon they are slightly more timid than other bees, or maybe just more aware of what's going on around them (i.e. large man approaching with camera).

Sadly number one son was made redundant yesterday, only two months after starting his first proper engineering job. One of the company's factories burned down about a month ago – and despite assurances to everyone that insurance covered everything and all would be fine, they are laying off nearly 40 per cent of the workforce. Life sucks sometimes.
