The (inaugural) wildflower and photography walk
I have to say that we had a brilliant day.
Firstly, the sun shone brightly at 7 to 9 am, so the wildflowers opened in response. By the time we did our walk, it was overcast, so that was perfect for photography.
We started in Wark Town Hall, where the caretaker gave us a wonderful welcome. We had to change rooms because of the toddler group, but it all worked out fine.
I gave a short illustrated talk to explain some of the issues in wildflower photography. It had to be quite basic because of the range of people and cameras.
Kevin took a group off to discuss mobile phone photography and I had the people with a wide variety of cameras. Wide, very wide!
Then we walked. When we reached Gold Island, I suggested that we stayed for an hour. This worked well and everyone found their way back to the starting point!
I’ve been on my feet all day, so the 5 miles felt more like 8. I hope I can walk tomorrow.
I’m posting early in case I fall asleep in the chair…..
