The Lozarithm Lens

Still Life With Empties (Wednesday 1st May 2024)

Casting my eye for a blip I noticed these bottles about to be put in a recycling crate. Not necessarily to be consumed at the same time.
By the way, the Cellar Rats jar is not liquid rat poison (I would never use such a thing) but was a free two-glass sample of a very fine Argentinian Cabernet Sauvignon.

Lozarhythm Of The Day:
Mdou Moctar - Imouhar (recorded mid-2023, New York NY)
I love the intensity and anger of Mdou Moctar's lead guitar on this new single, from the album Funeral for Justice. Mdou Moctar is a Tuareg songwriter and musician based in Agadez, Niger, who performs modern rock music inspired by Tuareg guitar music. His music first gained attention through a trading network of mobile phones and memory cards in West Africa. He sings in the Tamasheq language. He plays guitar in the takamba and assouf styles in a band that shares his name.
This album is really different for me. Now the problems of terrorist violence are more serious in Africa. When the US and Europe came here, they said they’re going to help us, but what we see is really different. They never help us to find a solution.” - Mdou Moctar
