Brayden

Meet Brayden whom I and other members of the Path Group met this afternoon when we attended CPR training provided by Heartstart.  It was really helpful and I came away with a better idea of what to do in an emergency. 

The importance of this was brought home to me just about a year ago when  I was at a concert and the guitarist collapsed on stage. An audience member who had recently undergone training had the presence of mind to go and help and administer CPR until the paramedics arrived. Thankfully the guitarist survived. 

We also learned the importance of checking that the tongue is blocking airways,  how to move someone into the recovery position, and how to use a defibrillator.

The manikin was interesting in that it light up as you practiced the CPR- which was surprisingly hard work.  .
