I decided to make the most of my €10 train pass and so set off early this morning for a trip to Gandia.
Given that today is a national holiday in Spain, I thought the town would be busy but it was surprisingly quiet and more Spanish than I’d expected. I explored both the Ducal Palace (once home to the Borgias) and Gandia’s beautiful Basilica. Afterwards it was good to catch up with my new Irish friend, Alan, for drinks and tapas. Sadly his wife wasn’t able to join us but I can assure thechimp that it was all decidedly above board! I’d hoped to have a swim off Gandia Playa (huge beach but more developed than Valencia’s beach) but unfortunately it clouded over in the afternoon.
