A very grey day
The weather today hasn’t been bad, it just hasn’t been good either.
My plan was to blip part of the inside of Saltburn Community Hall which is part of the larger community arts centre, but has its own entrance and facilities. It’s quite lovely inside with wood panelling and some stained glass windows. It is the polling station today and although neither of us know too much about the candidates, other than what has been gleaned on local social media and their own party websites, we felt it important to vote.
I’m a strong believer in voting. Especially as a woman and the suffragettes who made such sacrifice for the right to vote.
So we went into town and voted for the office of Tees Valley Combined Mayor and for a new Police and Crime Commissioner. Of course though, I was not allowed to wander round inside and take pictures.
We called into the supermarket for a few bits and pieces and then came back via Marine Parade where I got my blip looking down to the pier.
It’s been very grey most of the day and it was almost impossible to see where the sea and sky met due to the misty conditions.
Callum went this afternoon to have his second shingles jab. No yearly top up needed, this one protects for life now. Who knew! He said the waiting room was queuing out the door with people for Covid top up jabs.
