Power to the People?

Today was local election day in much of England and Wales, although not for the same positions everywhere. Gill and I have postal votes so we sent them in before leaving. 

We travelled home along the heads of the valleys road which is more interesting than the M4 but does involve a lengthy section of roadworks.


I thought this overhead power line was probably bringing more power to more people than any local politician is ever likely to achieve.  There's even a bin to put any vote for me leaflets you have no further use for in :-)



For the avoidance of doubt, out local counsellor is a reasonable/helpful/caring person who will try to help even if you didn't vote for him.
