Today's the day . . . . . . . . . . for a battle
I've spent a lovely day today, exploring the site of the Battle of Culloden (1746) - and all that is on offer there at the National Trust for Scotland Visitor Centre.
I'd never been to the present building - which had been erected in 2007 at a cost of some £9.4M. The NTS have done a great job (in my opinion) in interpreting all the aspects of this historically important event - and debunking the myths that have become associated with it.
The blue flags seen above mark the position on the moor where the Jacobite forces lined up facing Cumberland's Redcoats . . . . . . . .
