Castle Green, Durham

Detail of weathered sandstone on one of the buildings around Castle Green in Durham. We were there to see the exhibition of the Lindisfarne Gospels at the Castle Green Library, my lasting memory of which is having spent 90 minutes in a series of queues, which was absolutely avoidable as they'd controlled the number of tickets sold.
