42 Balloons

We went to the theatre to see a new musical called 42 Balloons. It’s about the true story of Larry Walters in California in the 1980’s who’d always wanted to fly. He attached 42 balloons to a lawn chair and attached a rope to the ground and flew to 50 feet - at which point the rope snapped and he inadvertently flew to 16000 feet. He lost his glasses and two aircraft reported him to air traffic control as he flew over the airport. He was a celebrity for a while.
It was high energy fun, well sung and well acted.
