a hedge of lilacs
One of the walks Laney and I take passes right by this hedge of lilacs. Not only are they pretty to see but they fill the street with their sweet perfume.
As I was titling this blip I wondered what is the difference between the meaning of "a hedge of shrubs" and "hedging a bet." The former meaning is the hedge is a fence or boundary. The latter meaning is that the hedge limits the losses. So I guess they are both enclosures in some sense.
