Hidaya

Storm alerts are being issued for Tanzania and Mozambique due to something brewing in the Indian Ocean. It has been named Hidaya, which translates as ‘gift’. Not in the good way.

We returned from Songea to Dar es Salaam with our visitors. Our flight was rescheduled by three hours but at least we were notified in advance. This was the look at the airport once we had landed after a bumpy and lurching descent. Dark clouds, which Dar es Salaam is no stranger to, and strong winds, which are less usual here.

It’s been a very intense week and the afternoon continued in the same vein with reflection discussions and transport logistics. There was also time to eat some delicious biryani. I was wiped by evening and enjoyed some long-awaited alone time.
