Pictures at an Exhibition

I attended the opening of an exhibit of the paintings and graphic work of a Maine artist, Roger Williams of Lovell.  It was held in the Pace Gallery at Fryeburg Academy, one of the oldest secondary schools in America.  (Daniel Webster attended school here.)  His oils and watercolors focus on the rural landscapes of Western Maine and I loved his iconic images of farm life.  He did a poster for the Maine Audubon Society as well as other notable commissions.  I am so lucky to have this venue so near to home.  The facility also includes the Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center that hosts musical performances and live streaming in HD of the Metropolitan Opera.  Madam Butterfly next Saturday!  May the Fourth be with you!  (Sorry, I just had to do that.)
