Tulips at a Window
It all started to well weather wise. Our Saturday swim was in brilliant sushine and in a bouncy sea. It looked like we were in for another glorious day, but fate had other ideas. The washing was put out on the line, breakfast was made and still the sun shone. At some point I noticed a bank of mist out to the east and within an hour the sun was gone and so had Orphir. Suddenly it was quite a different day. Although mild with not much wind it’s grey and damp. My washing came in feeling damper than when it was put out.
One of the Selkies has got some flu like virus and was feeling a bit sorry for herself and so I thought to take her a pick me up bar of Orkney fudge only to find she wasn’t answering her door. Turns out she must have been having a nap upstairs because she assures me she was in. I left the fudge on her doorstep.
I have been asked for tea to the Edinburgh -visiting -Selkie’s house and it seems the perfect way to spend a grey Saturday afternoon and evening.
Tomorrow I have to look forward to the massed pipe bands celebrating the Stromness RNLI 200th anniversary. They are marching right past the door!
