Simple pleasures

I haven’t seen a bull finch in the garden for many years, so I was delighted to see this as I was waiting for the kettle to boil. I managed to grab my camera , and open the back door without disturbing it. Not the clearest photos but I couldn’t risk getting any closer.

I don’t feed the birds with commercial bird food, but try and provide food and nesting materials in the garden by planting wisely and not worrying about keeping the garden pristine. Whilst it is messier than I would like at the moment, I would rather that then 1970’s style parks department gardening!

Antibiotics seem to be improving my toothache, but still quite uncomfortable.
