Yardworks
P finished his second to last assignment this week and so has given himself a weekend off before cracking on with the last one. We had a last minute toss up between going to see the mountain bikes at Fort Bill or sticking closer to home to go to the Yardworks Festival. We chose the latter due to it being cheaper and not needing to spend hours on the road or getting up early doors.
Yardworks is a street art festival held in a events venue in town, they have some of the best street artists from all over the world, as well as showcasing various local artists, including some fascinating to watch sign writers. Lots of blips to choose from (head over to gblrps' journal to see more) but I went with this one as I love the fish with the larger work in the background, and we spoke to the artist who did the fish and she was great and local.
I was amazed by the talent on display and have no idea how you even begin to put something so big together, and some were done so quickly too. Other highlights were the Scottish artist doing 1950s robot armageddon, IamSprite's bluetits (they are birds. definitley birds) and a ridiculously photo realistic eye and cat done by an artist who I haven't managed to find on google yet.
