The Kelpies.
Kat has been having a few days away walking in the Comrie area. She would have needed buses and train to get home, so we offered to pick her up and make a day out of it. We arrived at Comrie Croft just after 10:00 in glorious weather and found Kat in the sheltered area just outside the cafe. So coffee and cake were the obvious next step.Clickychick was looking for a C for her alphabet challenge. She managed a shot with 5 Cs here.
Kat suggested we might like to visit the "Deil's Caldron" a local waterfall before we left the area so off we went. A great spectacle but in a few years time it will be difficult to see unless some judicious pruning is done.
Then we headed back towards Edinburgh. CC mentioned being surprised at seeing the Kelpies from the road, one thing lead to another and we decided on a visit. As always coffee and lunch were a requirement. While in the cafe I planned a shot with four Kelpies in. You are now wondering why i didn't use the shot with the two miniature Kelpies plus the two huge ones. Well I made a mistake, one I often make. I concentrated too much on the subject and not enough on the background. A damned great pylon was sticking out of the side of one of the Kelpies!
Then another detour to take in Hopetoun Garden Centre. A lovely place with many interesting things. As always Kat can't see plants without buying at least one, today was no exception. Finally back to Edinburgh and a visit to Toby Carvery.
