Huttons Shearwater

This little seabird is also very endangered. One breeding area is the mountains above Kaikoura. They fledge and come to grief unable to find the sea, because of the town lights disorientating them. They hurt themselves. We have about 12 of them at the hospital at present. I have this one at home because it needs isolating because of infection. I have a large plastic box in my shower for it to swim and get waterproofed in. My house smells badly of fish smoothie.!!! It’s been mild so could have windows and door open.
