Wimbo Paddock Mural

I used to live a block or two away but couldn’t remember what was here before the trams returned, a new park was created and the big factory building at the end got a makeover (extra).

Peter Day’s 1985 mosaic shows earlier uses of this patch of land - hot air balloons, trapeze artists and circuses. Apparently it was a stone yard from early in the 20th century until 1982.

The mural was restored in 2012 and is now displayed on a stand, a bit like an advertising billboard. I would’ve liked to see it much bigger and on a wall, like his earlier one.
