IT'S MOTORHEAD SUNDAY

I know....this doesn't look like the "normal" Motorhead Sunday submission.  Well, it isn't but it's an important photo.

It's Junior Prom time at the local high school.  In America, the Junior Prom is a really big deal...a step-up in the world of social interaction and it doesn't involve texting. Although there will be plenty of selfies taken at the dance.

This is the Junior Prom Court from among which the student body will select a King and Queen to preside over the festivities.  They are nominated by the students and run as individuals not as couples...which is a departure from the way most schools run their proms.  This year's King is 2nd from left in the back row; the Queen is 1st from the right in the front row.

After dinner, they will go back to the high school for the dance where the King and Queen will be announced.  I'm sure they are all sleeping late this morning as I was up at 04:00 preparing photos for the newspapers. This is always a real treat for me as I normally see these young people in athletic gear or bluejeans.  It is clearly a caterpillar to butterfly transformation...especially the girls.  I barely recognized any of them.

I awoke at 03:00 thinking about how cool it would be to have shot the group at the beach.  I couldn't get the idea out of my head so I got up, fired up the iMac and loaded the group shot into the new Beta version of Photoshop where I selected the group image and had AI replace the background with a Hawaiian beach.  It isn't perfect but it's good enough for me.  What do you think?
