The morning started misty and drizzly and there was a chance that it might not improve until mid afternoon. I decided to get out early for a blip . . . I could visualise trees in the mist with a lake backdrop. FAILED. Every free parking spot between Waterhead and Penny Rock corner at Grasmere was occupied and it wasn’t even 9 o’clock. I wasn’t paying for a car park so went home and did the ironing.
Ventured out again after lunch this time on foot. The rain had stopped. Up through Stock Ghyll wood where the wild garlic which was all in bud on my last visit is now flowering.
