Parrot's Drumble Bluebells

Phew! I thought we wouldn't have time to visit our bluebell wood this year. But we managed to squeeze it in this morning. And it was glorious.

I think all the rain we've had recently has made it more lush this year. I was struggling to isolate individual flower stems to photograph. And it was after a night of rain so their colours just popped, with lots of water droplets too. Just perfect.

The woodland is owned and managed by Staffordshire Wildlife Trust and is in the most unlikely of locations - behind an industrial estate! it's called Parrot's Drumble.

Parrot because that's the name of the family who originally owned it and Drumble as that's a local term for a stream running through a wooded valley.

We had a coffee and cake at BBs at the nearby out of town shopping centre where we'd parked. And then popped to see a friend who lives only a few streets away to deliver a birthday card.

After all that activity I still managed a bit more plant transferring from ceramic pots to plastic, ready to move....
